“I strive to make training fun! Having good, positive interactions with our dogs builds trust and a bond that will not break. Focusing on teaching our dogs what TO do instead of what not to do is key. I love that all dogs have a choice. They choose to do what you ask or not. The goal is to make what you ask a desirable choice for your dog. When they are happy and enjoy doing something, that behavior will be repeated.”

Ashley is what you would call a dog geek! She loves working with and learning all about dogs. Her first job was at a kennel as a “play timer”. She would take the dogs outside and play, rain or shine. After that, she became a dog bather at a local pet store. Quickly falling in love with grooming, she decided to attend a grooming school and become a dog groomer. Eventually, her husband and her opened their own mobile grooming business. They have been in business now for 12 years.

A French Bulldog puppy stole Ashley’s heart and soon became part of the family. She decided to take classes at a training facility. The class sparked something in her that she knew needed to be explored. Her joy of learning has never been so strong! She mentored under a trainer and soon began teaching classes. After that, she trained one on one with clients and their dogs. Ashley says, “There is something special about the relationship’s I create with people and their dogs.” She has since become a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT).

Looking to grow her knowledge even further, she continues to take seminars and classes. She has been enjoying things like dog agility, swimming and scent work. Branching even further, she started a Podcast about, what else, dogs. She is in the process of obtaining her AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator Certification. Dogs are Ashley’s passion. She strives to make their lives and the lives of their guardians a happier one.
